Bail Bonds Overview

Types of Offenses

The purpose of setting bail is to assure the court that the person bonding out will show up on their appointed court date. Bail bonds can take on many forms in Louisiana.

DUI or DWI

When someone who is arrested for DUI or DWI pays a set amount to be released from custody. Under the conditions set by the court the suspect agrees to appear in court on the dates set. This includes preliminary hearings, pre-trial motions, and the trial. In the event that a suspect fails to appear in court when scheduled the Bond will be forfeited and a warrant will be issued for their arrest.

Drug Chargesl

If a person is charged with drug possession they will be arraigned and the bail requirements will be set. The inmate must make arrangements for bail to be paid in order for them to be released from prison. The suspect must then fulfill all bond obligations set by the court including any court appearances or the bond will be forfeited and a warrant will be issued for their arrest.

Warrant

It’s never convenient to take care of a warrant but it’s much better to take care of it on your terms rather than theirs. Imagine if you get stopped for speeding with an outstanding warrant and have to spend time in jail. It’s tough to get things in order to bond out without a cell phone or wallet. If you or someone you know has a warrant, they need to act quickly. The first step would be to contact EZ Free Bail Bonds. We can help keep you from spending time behind bars. We will perform what we call a walkthrough with you. Before you surrender yourself we will secure the funding for your bond. You will then turn yourself in to be booked into jail. Immediately after you are booked in your bond will be posted and you will be free to go. If a suspect fails to fulfill their bond obligations, their bond will be revoked and a warrant will be issued for their arrest.

Domestic Violence

If you or a loved one is arrested for domestic violence, the judge will set the conditions of their bond. The suspect will likely be ordered to have no contact with the victim. If they contact the victim or do not make their court appearance dates the bond will be revoked and a warrant will be issued for their arrest.

Felony charges

Felony charges include but are not limited to

  • Aggravated assault
  • Drug crimes
  • Assault with bodily injury
  • Intoxication assault
  • Manslaughter
  • Repeat DWI
  • Sexual assault
  • Rape

Felonies are risky and bail is usually set at a high amount. With such high stakes be cautious of using just any bail bond company. EZ Free Bail Bonds will guide you and your loved ones through the confusing protocol of bonding someone out on a felony offence. Once funding is secured for the bail we will post bond and have the suspect out quickly, professionally and most importantly discretely. If the suspect fails to fulfill any of the bond obligations the bond will be revoked and a warrant will be issued for their arrest.

Misdemeanor Charges

Misdemeanor charges include but are not limited to

  • DUI
  • Trespassing
  • Theft
  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Probation violations
  • Driving Under Suspension
  • Domestic Violence

Misdemeanor charges are nothing to take lightly. The bail amount might be significantly lower than felonies but the same risk of spending time behind bars is there. Once a suspect is booked in they or a family member should call us. We will meet with them, secure funding and post bond quickly professionally and discretely. Once the suspect is out, if any of the bond obligations are not fulfilled, the bond will be revoked and a warrant will be issued for their arrest.
